SAMMI RAE is a Wisconsin native, Reiki Master Teacher, Past Life Practitioner, and Author. Having grown up on farm outside Oshkosh. She knows the value of a good day’s work, that comes from planting seeds to watch life grow…
Her love and passion for helping others in her energy work and writing comes from facilitating and being a witness to a person’s journey and the exchanges made in what she refers to as “life’s five-minute moments.”
Life-sustaining moments can be as simple as a sunset setting over the horizon or standing at the gates of Dachau during wartime, moments that form a lifetime of moments that make life worth living.
Life mirrors joy and sadness and the beauty within both sides of the journey we are here to experience and learn. Holding the joy close to our hearts or helping someone walk through a sadness, we are all connected.
So whether you are reading her poetry or her metaphysical self-help books for healing. The truth in life will touch you that is not to be held alone.

A special thank you to all Protective Service officers, who daily walk into work not knowing what or who they will encounter. Their dedication to giving us a safer place to live gave many of them the courage to share a piece of the truth in the job they do each day.
The book "The Door Wide Open" explores life's transitions, both big and small, with depth and lightness. With nature, love, and laughter along the way. Life resides in these moments; we are alive in each second of every day, rather than life "getting in the way" or "just happening."
I have always believed and hold in my heart, when something looks good it will taste good. Whether looking at a plate of food, or a piece art that holds us captive. We are human and it is our nature to be drawn to pretty things. In my last adventure, each jar of pickles was to be packed to perfection. First capturing the eye and once you snapped that first bite, richness of flavor kept people coming back again and again.
I have carried this forward the pairing of poetry and photography once again, complimenting each other on the palate of life.
“The Door Wide Open” is written with depth and lightness in life’s transitions, big and small. from a 14-year-old wishing to be seen and heard to the widow not wanting to be seen. With nature love and laughter along the way. For life is held in these moments, life does not “get in the way” or “just happen” we are alive in each second of every day.
